Hooded
Crow

Corvus cornix

In Finland, hooded crows have been observed pulling up ice-fishing lines left through holes in frozen lakes to steal the fish attached to them.

They drop crabs and hard-shelled molluscs from the air onto rocks to smash them open. An old Scottish name for the empty sea urchin shells left behind is "crow's cups".

Their cognitive abilities match those of some great apes, allowing them to solve complex foraging puzzles, recognize human faces, and even build relationships with people who feed them.
