Pacific
Swallow

Hirundo javanica

Unlike many shy birds, they love city life and frequently glue their mud nests to building eaves, bridges, tunnels, and parking garages.

Out of the five swallow species recorded in Singapore, the Pacific Swallow is the only one that stays and breeds year-round rather than just migrating through.

They spend massive amounts of time flying or perched on power lines and antennae, darting out to snatch small flies and insects straight out of the air.
