Mule Deer

When startled, they do not just run; they perform a bouncy leap called stotting, pushing all four hooves off the ground at the exact same time to confuse predators.

They possess an incredible ability to sense underground water sources up to two feet beneath the surface.

Male bucks grow new antlers every year that can sprout up to a quarter-inch per day during peak development.
